Kartikeya holds a Master’s Degree in Ecology & Environment and has eight years of research experience working with Wildlife Institute of India during which he studied the ecology of Indian Wolves and the Asiatic Lions. Kartikeya has also worked as an additional photographer on several documentaries produced by BBC and other eminent production houses.

A proficient trapper of wolves and other canids, he has expertise in catching, anesthetizing and radio collaring wild animals. In 2011, while working with Taj Safaris, he was one of the specialists involved in the reintroducing Gaur from Kanha to Bandhavgarh. Kartikeya is also a specialist trainer who regularly conducts training for frontline forest department staff, guides and naturalists.

Shekhar Kolipaka is a trained forestry and wildlife management professional with academic degrees and years of hands on experience in habitat restoration work, wildlife research and management and in the human –dimension of wildlife.
Shekhar Kolipaka works at the Leiden University in the Netherlands and works at the Department of Cultural Anthrapology (FSW) and Development Sociology and Department of Environmental Sciences (CML). He is pursuing his PhD at LU and also undertakes independent research projects with an aim to solutions to conserve wildlife, wild landscapes and promote human-wildlife coexistence.

Pugdundee is a Hindi word meaning a foot trail commonly used by humans and animals, this word is popularly used for such beaten paths in the Indian jungles.
Driven by the love of Indian jungles it made an unplanned humble beginning in 1986, with a small tented camp at Panna – Ken River Lodge. Between 2007 -2010 two more lodges were set up and it was not until the year 2010 that they all were put together under a common umbrella.
Today Pugdundee Safaris is run by a passionate team of wildlifers and hospitality professionals with a team of over 300 people committed to providing an incredible wildlife experience. The team includes naturalists, nature Guides, mahouts, boatmen, trackers and a marketing team based in Delhi.

“Shyam Prasad Bekal holds an academic degree in Business Management and has completed PGDBM. He underwent crash course in animal behaviour at WII, Dehradun and has hands-on experience of over two decades in designing and implementation of solar fence system for animal exclusion application across various regions in India.
Shyam has successfully designed and implemented solar fences from Kerala in the south to Uttarkhand in the North, from Assam in the east to Maharashtra in the west. He posses in-depth technical knowledge in electric fencing. From porcupines to Elephants he has achieved great success in keeping them off and thereby saving crops from animal grazing and safe-guarding farm property from animal intrusion. The fence projects done along forest borders and village settlement around national parks, sanctuary and reserves run to several hundred kilometer length and in tough terrain.

Shyam is a avid nature enthusiast and conservationist. He believes that education and compassion are the keys to coexisting with any form of wildlife. It is duty of people to conserve & protect wildlife rather than taking revenge of their damaged crops and life of human and livestock. People should understand that wildlife helps to maintain ecological balance. Humans must understand that the development can take place without harming the environment”

Our first of its kind application, “Hejje”, a habitat management system is used in 46 anti poaching camps in Bandipur National Park, Nagarhole National Park, Periyar Tiger reserve, Satyamangalam Tiger Reserve, Cauvery Wildlife, MM Hills wildlife. The application is sought by other states as well and there is a proposal for making this application standard throughout the country.
The Android App is tested for various affecting factors inside the forest and app stability is attained with field tests during field visits for manual testing.
Hejje – Habitat Tracking system for wildlife

Hejje is a habitat tracking system which is designed to collect the vital information of habitat to proactively provide an insight to various aspects like patrolling efficiency, herbivorous and carnivorous population, water availability and man-animal conflict.
Hejje is equipped by simple easy to use ANDROID MOBILE APPLICATION which will be used by anti-poaching camp staff during their routine patrolling to collect the information like animal sightings, water level in lakes, suspicious activities, certain tree population etc.
Hejje also ensures that the data is secured by encrypting all the information and only accessible to authorized personnel. Hejje makes good use of technology while providing a cost effective solution. Using Hejje the RFOs would get live update of their respective anti poaching patrolling activities like patrol start time, end time, distance covered and animal sighted instantly on their mobile without using internet.
